A Wild Video Appears

Link to the Video: Wet Loop Demo

While I think they all need a lot of work, I've created a video file that demos the 3 loops I've made so far. Each of the loops is repeated for approximately 20 seconds.

The audio should be kind of soft and low, and more or less SFW right now. Just kind of a wet, sloshing sound that repeats . . . a lot. The next versions should be better, and be NSFW with moans.

Please let me know what you think. Comments, suggestions, and criticism would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be sending an email to the creator of the voice recording soon, hopefully she will allow me to use portions of the samples so that there are moans to go with the loops.

Components used in the loops are from:

Finally Back at Work

No really this time, I've actually done some stuff. Barely any but there's progress.

Found some sounds to use for background sex noises, just need to make a good custom loop with some of them for both the learning project and RPTG. Still need to contact that voice actress to pull sounds from her recording though.

When I get a couple of loops together I'll post them and see if you all like them.

The major hurdle is still music, because while I have purchased several files, none of them feel right for the learning project's setting. Plus I'm the type of player who usually tuns the sound off and listens to something else while playing games like these.

PS: AnimeFest didn't happen, I got caught up playing No Man's Sky thinking that if I could reach the core I could name a system for the site. But that turned out to be pointless, so I wasted my time playing a game that I now feel wasn't worth the $60 I spent on it.

Well Fuck

I could lie to you, but I not about that. You get me as your game dev with all of my human flaws.

I haven't done much for the last few weeks. Some brain storming on games, some was on RPTG. Wrote a little, and started on some of the slightly better placeholders to finish up the learning project. Still need to sort out the music, and haven't sent that email the the voice artist yet.

With that said, things are not likely to change till probable the week after next. First I bought a new monitor and graphics card, so I've been stress testing and benchmarking to see how everything runs and to make sure both are working correctly.

This weekend is AnimeFest, which to be honest I haven't planned out anything for it. Basically the polar opposite of last year. Plus No Man's Sky is releasing sometime tomorrow, and I'm sure that will eat up a lot of time till I get board, however I'm thinking about trying out Twitch and streaming my playthrough.

TLDR; I'm not super reliable while doing this for a hobby as it competes with everything else for my free time.

Long Overdue

Sorry for not posting for over a week, and thank you all for putting up with it.

I didn't do much last week, as I had to work overtime at my day job to cover for a coworker on vacation.

However, I'm back at work and have taken care of the text change for the learning project.

I've gone with Square Brackets for thoughts, Quotes for anything spoken, and any text descriptions were left the same.

The author of the comic recommended some recordings for moans, so I'm going to ask the voice actress if she is consents to my use of them for this project.

Still need to figure out what I'm going to do for music or ambient sounds, plus there are a couple more place holders that need to get replaced before I'd consider it show-able.

Working on Sound

Put together some new assets to replace or improve placeholders, and I've started working on sound.

Not really sure what to do with this type of game, and I have no sex/moan clips to use. Where do all the other devs even find those. But I'm hoping to get to where I can play-test and send a new version to the artist tomorrow.

If the artist does anything public with it I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Story Done

Finished it up this morning, however I have not tested it yet.

Spent a few hours creating a few more sprites, now they all have at least place holders for when they're wearing clothes. Check out my Tumblr or Twitter if you would like to see them.

A lot of the environment is still placeholders, and I haven't done anything with the sound/music. I have a lot of work left to do.

Page 20 Done

Sorry I'm not done yet. Got sick over the weekend and was too fucked up on meds to concentrate. But I'm feeling better, and want to get back to work.

I pushed through a few more pages, and another piece of voxel art today. So the week's off to a strong start.

Fell off the Wagon

Took a day off last week because I was feeling sore from working out. Turned into a week off before I knew it. I know this is largely a pattern for me, so all I'll say is I'm sorry for skipping work and I'll try to do better.

P.S. There have been a lot of what looks like bots following my Tumblr. So I'll probably be cleaning them out soon. If for some reason you think I might confuse your account with a bot, please let me know.

New Routine Working

Making voxel art again, and just finished with page 16.

I'm planning to keep up this routine, it seems to be working for me. More energy, getting things done, and feeling good.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Not Dead, Still Working

I'm a third through page 14. I also made a new piece of voxel art today.

Trying out a new routine, and I need to get to bed. I'll post again soon.

2 More Done

My day job is motivating me to work on a way out. So time to make sure I'm working on my gamedev responsibilities.

Just need to find about $500 a month, them my GI Bill will take care of the rest. Anyone have way too much money and want to sponsor a hentai gamedev to work full-time and go back to school?

Post 100

Nowhere near as much to post about as I wanted. The power going out killed 7 hours of time I was going to work.

But I did manage to get through page nine, and what comes next is the hot and steamy bit. So that will be a lot of fun, plus it's basically the last part of the comic.

Back to Work!

I enjoyed A-Kon27. If you'd like to see the few pictures I remembered to take, just visit my Twitter or Tumblr accounts.

I've also resumed work on the learning project. Two more pages down, with the goal of catching up to where I'm supposed to be over the weekend.

PS.

The author of the comic the learning project is based on requested that I send him a build with my current progress. I'm not sure what he's going to do with it, because it still needs a lot of work. In the end I only hope he lets me continue to work on it.

A-Kon Tomorrow

That's right looks like I get to spend tonight buying and installing a new printer instead.

My last one died, leaving me unable to print out my conformation email so that I can pick up my badge. And while they probably would of let me in without it, I just found out I've been driving with an expired auto insurance card. So I still need to print something.

The good news is I'll be able to wake up early and hopefully get my badge before there's much of a line. Plus I'll be spending a hour or two working on the learning project tonight!

Bad Tak!

Sorry for not posting in over a week, not much has happened.

Been sidetracked by playing games again, but I did manage to finish page 6 in that time.

And I've got A-kon coming up this weekend, so not much else is going to happen till next week.

On the plus side no one claimed my offer from last years Anime Fest, so the deal will apply for this years conventions. But I'm not made of money(or I'd make games full time), so I'll be limiting the gift to the first person to do it.

Monday, May 23, 2016

And Back to the Story

Not much to say, just finished the 5th page.

More to come, sorry for not having more to report this time.

Sunday Post

Sorry for not posting yesterday, I wanted to finish up the generator work before I started talking.

All said I've got a little over a hundred new assets to use in MV's generator now, however almost none of it was modern or sci/fi clothing. Meaning that I'll still have to do most of the finalizing for the sprites myself. Which will take a lot of time, but that will be after I've completed the alpha and sent it to the artist.

As to the number of pages completed, that hasn't changed much from the last report. I do plan to put in some time later today and get back to work on it.

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Generator Mods

Just updated to MV 1.2, several fixes and some additions.

I'm also working on adding a couple add-ons for the character generator. A process that's made very tedious because it's not just plug 'n play. So I've been spending the last couple of hours renaming files so that it'll all work together.

The upside is that I'll only have to do it once, assuming that any future patches for MV don't contain new assets. But that aside it'll give me a lot more options for making new characters now and in the future.

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

Work and Kons

First 4.5 pages down, stopping to eat. Then I'll probably crash for the night.

Just got done paying for a 3 day pass to this year's A-Kon, I'm looking forward to seeing the largest anime convention in Texas. On top of that I've already registered to go to Anime Fest this year, so I'm going to that it two years in a row.

Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Story Grinding

Started putting the story into MV's eventing engine.

Not sure how long it'll take me, but I'll try to do at least a page or two a night.

The artist seems to really want to play it, so I'll have to make sure the first playable build isn't too filled with stock items and placeholders.

Saturday, May 7, 2016

Shopping and Cooking

Just got back from the grocery shopping I was supposed to do last week. I'll be taking a break for lunch, then making a slow cooker pot roast. I hope it turns out better than the last one I made(supper bland).

Then it's off to tackling that hardest page of the comic. Then hopefully finishing the remaining pages, and starting on putting the story into RPG Maker MV.

Now to start with the story portion.

Friday, May 6, 2016

Two More Done

Only 3 pages to go, unfortunately the next page looks to be the most difficult. Several large text boxes in difficult locations. But after that, the last two pages look to be much easier.

Sunday, Mothers Day, looks to be rather busy for me. I'll see what I can get done.

Tuesday, May 3, 2016

And Sometimes Bad Shit Happens

People die everyday, but it's always painful when it's someone you were close to.

Got shit all done after my post on Saturday, but I'm trying to continue working.

4 more images done today, only 3.5 pages left.

I'll post again when I remember to.

Saturday, April 30, 2016

Work Work

Almost done with the pictures. Not sure I'll have the alpha done by the end of tomorrow, but it should be mostly there.

Posted a screenshot on my twitter of a couple of the map locations, yes I'm doing it in gray-scale. I think it works well when paired with the images from a uncolored comic.

Friday, April 29, 2016

Crashing Early

I'll be waking up early to go grocery shopping and to cook for the weekend, then it's a hard push to get the learning project to a working alpha.

Once that's done I'll start working on the port of RPTG when I'm not finishing up the learning project.
I've got about double the current content just waiting for me to catch up, and maybe the first piece of artwork(waiting on the artist still).

Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Not Much to Say

Didn't get much work done over the last few days.

Most of what I did was catch up on other peoples games. All of them are amazing and I always enjoy seeing that happens next in them. You can see what I'm playing on the links page.

I did manage to get some work done, and wrote a few hundred words on a couple more ideas for games. Including a kitsune sim for VR, a erotic game similar to fallout shelter mixed with civilization, and a rpg based on a mix of some anime I've enjoyed.

Saturday, April 23, 2016

5 Pages Done

Got through 5 more pages, and over 20 images for the learning project.

I'll be posting a Screenshot Saturday in a little bit, however almost everything I thought of would give the nature of the project away. So I might have to find something else for that next week.

If everything does well I'll finish with creating the images tomorrow. Then I'll be able to start working on importing the story into MV's eventing system. Then I can start working on the longest and hardest part, creating on new assets for MV and creating the sprites for the characters.

Thursday, April 21, 2016

I Wonder How

I'm a consumer as well as a creator, and I just have wonder how some other creators can do what they do. Some of them find a page worth of things to talk about every single day. That just boggles my mind.

I feel like a daily progress update is just finding a new way to retype the same stuff. Work got done, but it sounds no different than yesterday.

That said, 3 more pages down. Good progress.

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

A Little More

I've converted about half of the comic to images for the game. So there's still a lot left of that.

After I'm done with that, next it's getting them and the story in the game.

Finishing with making new assets to replace the stock one I'm using a place holders.

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

Couple of Hours

A couple of hours later and a half dozen more images made from the comic.

I'll try to keep this pace and have the first part done by the end of the month.

Maybe micro posts like this will help me keep on track.

Life Without Deadlines

God damn it, why can't I put these out on time.

Feeling like shit, not enough sleep.

Going to crash early tonight, and make up for the lack of work tomorrow.

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Having a Good Day

Sorry about the super late post. Right after I was saying I'd be more consistent with my updates too.

But on a positive note, I came home after work with a lot of energy. So for the last couple of hours I've been creating the images for the learning project. Relatively simple but time consuming work, it's a good thing I love the comic!

My current goal is just to get a working version of the main game together so that I have something to show the author. It's largely a visual novel made out of his comic, but I'm hoping that he enjoys seeing it in a different format.

If everything goes well I'll make an after game featuring some of his other artwork, and maybe a version for the other chapters of the comic when they're completed!

End of Vacation

Today was the last day of my vacation, so back to the day job tomorrow.

I'm thinking that I'll take a break on Cursed Heroes till I've at least finished the first part of the learning project. I might even finish with the after game and make a release for RPTG and Plane 186 before going back. It's not like I'll lose what I've written, and who knows I might wright something better before I start working on Cursed Heroes again.

The only downside I see to this is that I won't be sticking to the release schedule that I originally planned. In fact I probably won't be releasing anything to the public for at least a couple of months this way. So I'll just have to be supper diligent with blog posts, Screenshot Saturdays, and uploading voxel art so that no one thinks I've run away or died.

No Con, More Work

Looks like my group is not going to Gamer Nation Con this year. Not surprising, someone having a child tends to put plans on hold.

So now that I have several days of vacation and no events to go to, barring familial obligations. I'll be working on that learning project that I started months ago. I haven't been putting as much time as I should of into it, and it's holding me up from starting work on RPTG again.

Lastly in case you haven't seen it yet, there's a poll at the top left of the blog. If you have a direction you'd like me to pursue, this is a way to let me know without going through the process of leaving a comment.

4AM Release

Well here it is, I know it's not technically Sunday but this is the best I could do.

There were many game breaking bugs with the last release, and while they are now fixed, I am somewhat shocked that no one mentioned them.

I am truly sorry for releasing Episodes 4 and 5 in such an abysmal state, and can guarantee that Episode 6 is back up to my usual standards.

Please check out the current releases page for links to get Episode 6.

How the Weekend Plays Out

“Oh hi there last minute invitation to an Easter church service, why sure I've got all the time in the world because it's the start of the weekend.”

The things we do not to offend family.

But anyways, I'm once again a week(or two) behind schedule, and hoping to finish. I'll just push through till I finish on Saturday. Playtest and bug fix on Sunday, after going and seeing Batman v. Superman with previously said family.

Then next week is Gamer Nation Con, if we still end up going. One of the people might be giving birth, so nothing is for sure. If I end up not going, I've still got the time off from work, so I'll take some time to work on things other than Cursed Heroes. Only working on one game is starting to get to me(there was a reason I was working on two games before), so this might help.

Monday Update

Sorry for not updating on time, procrastination is a bitch. However, I'm almost done with the next episode. I should drop sometime this week, after I'm done play-testing the last 3 episodes.

I'll be honest, I staring to think I've been working on Cursed Heroes for too long. It's basically the only thing that I've focused on for months, and that's not a good thing.

I'm thinking about taking a break from Cursed Heroes to work on my other projects. I still have the learning project, that hasn't progressed much. After that I've got a bit of a back log for both RPTG and Plane 186.

As per usual coming up with ideas is easy, executing them and making a finished project is the hard part.

Monday, March 14, 2016

Quick Update

So you might of noticed that there wasn't a release over the weekend. Sorry about that, I did manage to get the maps done and stitched together. Eventing is all that remains, so I'll be working on that a little every night this week.

I've also started to post some of my attempts at voxel art to my Deviant Art account. I plan on doing something small about once a day so that I can get better, and build up an asset collection.

Lastly, in about 2 weeks I'll be attending Gamer Nation Con. It's a small table top gaming convention held in the DFW area.

Saturday, March 12, 2016

Starting Early

Crashed early last night, and woke up really early today. For all you fine folks, this means 12+ hours of work today. Including a stream, because I didn't keep my word last weekend.

If it all goes to plan, I might even have Episode 6 out tomorrow. Lots of ifs behind that happening, but it's possible. If I can keep an efficiency of around 1 – 1.5 hours of work per minute of game play, then I should be golden.

Plus I've been thinking of experimenting with voxels as a art form. (A graphical style made popular by Minecraft.) I spent a lot(ridiculous) of time as a kid playing with LEGOs, so it might be a system I can use.

Well everything will start after I go get some breakfast.

Looks like I had at least one big bug in Episode 4. While you're training with the guards you learn a new skill, but i left out the command to lean it. So you never got the skill, see a really fucking large bug. The next episode will include a fix, I'll include a way to fix it without having to start a new game.

Saturday, March 5, 2016

Work Continues

Starting to work on Episode 6 today, and will probably resume work on the learning project. Might stream some map building tomorrow, it's been a while. Family stuff came up, didn't stream or get much at all done, sorry.

The play testing of Episodes 4 and 5 is progressing, but I haven't put much time into it.

One last thing, I'd like to ask what recommendations you all have, and what you would like to see both inside and out side of the games.

I know that there are probably several of you who just want me to hurry up and start working on RPTG again. I promise that I have not forgotten about it, and that work continues in the background.

Sunday, February 28, 2016

Finally the Release

Here they are Episodes 4 and 5, took me long enough.
You can find links on the current releases page.

Please be aware, these are not up to may normal quality of release. There will likely be several bugs, so I would appreciate any and all bug reports and/or feedback.

I do plan of going through and doing a proper play test tomorrow after work.

Saturday, February 27, 2016

Working Away From Home

Had to get some work done on my SUV today. So while I was away from my comp, I spent those hours working on my cellphone. A somewhat more tedious way of doing it, but what that's all you have you make it work.

I now have most of Episode 6 written out, so it'll go faster. I should be able to get back on schedule, as it'll be an easier one to make.

Finally, look forward to a release of Episodes 4 and 5 tomorrow. It'll likely have a few bugs because it'll be a little rushed, so I'll be counting on everyone to tell me where I fouled up.

PS;
I also typed out some ideas for another game.

Don't worry I'm not going to do anything with it, I've got 3 games and a learning project that I'm having trouble keeping up with. I know I don't have the time to start another. If y'all would like to hear about any of my other ideas, just let me know.

Sunday, February 21, 2016

Overly Optimistic

Just got a reminder that I have a family dinner to go to in a couple of hours. That on top of having grossly underestimated the amount of time I needed to finish. Will be pushing the release date still further back. If this takes too long it will push all releases back.

I need to get a handle on scheduling my time, if I ever want to do this as more than a hobby.

Saturday, February 20, 2016

Pushing for Release

Just as the title says, I'm going to be pushing to release this weekend. There will be a longer post when the next episodes are uploading.

Till then, feel free to play something or say 'Hi'.

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Happy Valentine's Day

It's confirmed not going to release Cursed Heroes Episodes 4 and 5 till at least next weekend. I was making some decent progress yesterday till a bug ate up a couple of hours and I lost motivation. I'll try again today, but don't know how long it'll last. Might work on one of my other games for a change of pace.

P.S.

If you're single don't feel down on Valentine's Day, know that your in good company. There are lots of people for whom this is just another day in the year.

Progress Report, Maybe Delayed

Put in a few more hours on the learning project, got part of the intro re-worked for a game type setting. I hope it's not too much of a deviation and that the author approves.

For Cursed Heroes, I've finished up the maps and have them stitched together. Tomorrow will be the start of getting the events entered. I might have to push it back to the 3rd weekend of this month, but hopefully I can get back on track.

Oh, and I've commissioned a piece of line-art for RPTG from MEAT, an artist I met on Picarto. When it's done I'll post it here. To get an idea of her art style check out the following links;

Minor Site Update

Removed the synopses from the current releases page.

Added new pages for each of my current works in progress. There should be some more information available for all of them, allowing potential players to get a feel for if they'd like the game. Images and more information will be added over the next couple of weeks.

Development Update a Sunday Morning Post

Sorry for the late post, got caught up in a family member's home remodel for sever hours. Just didn't have the energy to think up a blog post afterwards.

Now for the fun stuff : )

Spent some more time on the learning project. Just need to pull the art assets from the source material, and script out the story, then I'll have something of a demo's quality running. After that it's polishing, creating new assets to replace stock placeholders, and working on the after game. I hope the end result is good enough that the original author might use it later, but if nothing else it's forcing me to learn how to create the new assets I'll need for porting over RPTG.

For Cursed Heroes, Episodes 4 and 5 are progressing. They will be my focus for today, and I hope to get most of the maps finished.

Saturday, January 23, 2016

Another Early Post

Looks like I'm not made for all-nighters anymore, which is a shame as it would give me a lot more time to work, but that doesn't mean I got nothing done.

Put in 5 hours on the RPG Maker MV learning project. This got me through most of the map building with stock assets, that will be updated as I get more of the customized work finished and loaded into the game. I've got a lot of it thought out, so it's mostly just a mater of creating missing assets and setting up the events in a way that flows well.

Sunday I'll be putting work into Cursed Heroes, but I might put in some time today. I want to continue having something to show for Screenshot Saturday. Still working on the maps and script for the two paths. I hope to release Episodes 4 and 5 on time, but we will just have to see.

Saturday, January 16, 2016

Early Post

Just seeing what an early morning post might be like. Seems weird posting before working on my games all day.

I've written a couple hundred more words into the Episode 4 design doc and am planning on working on maps today. Look for a screenshot to go up late today, for Screenshot Saturday.

And tomorrow I'll be taking a stab at up-scaling assets for use in RPG Maker MV. I might stream that one. It's not like to be very good, but if your into watching people trying to learn by trial and error come watch.

A Year Later

While it's been a little over a year, I want to thank everyone who has visited this blog.

When I first started I'd be lucky to get a visitor a day, but over the last year this community has grown by nearly ten times that amount. This is very reassuring, as it hopefully means that I've been making some games that you all enjoy.

Going into 2016 I plan on branching out to a few more forums. I'd love for more people to try my games, and to leave me feedback, so that I can continue to refine and improve in my work.

Now for a progress update on Cursed Heroes;

I wrote about a thousand words into the design docs for one half of the next episode, and have started working on the maps. Remember this is going to be a double episode, so no release this month. But you can look forward to the first player chosen cosmetic change to the main character. I'll try to get the sprites finalized by next week, and post them next screenshot Saturday.

Lastly about the RPG Maker MV learning project;

I've started getting a list of resources I want to use, but it'll take me creating new versions of everything. The tiles in MV are 48x48 that's a 225% increase in area over VX's 32x32 tiles. So VX's old resources just wont cut it in MV without up-scaling. To make that look good and to take advantage of the added resolution I'll need to do it manually. While this is well outside my comfort zone, and will take a lot of time, it should make me a far more well rounded RPG Maker creator.

News on Episode 4

I started working on Episode 4 this weekend, and have decided to release it next month.

It won't be a true double episode, as the two story lines will be separate. But the amount of work will about the same.

Continue reading below for some of the reasons (WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD)
