And now Episode 3

It took all day to get it ready, but here it is. This is the longest episode to date, but there will be longer ones to come.

There have been some balancing updates in this version, so while a new game is not required, it might make the game a little easier.

Also, the next episode contains two competing stories, so I'm thinking about taking the time to flesh them out. If I do this it'll count as a double episode and won't be released until mid February. I'd be very interested to hear what those of you who have been playing Cursed Heroes would prefer.

Looks like a Small Delay

That's right, and no one is surprised. Episode 3's release will be pushed back to Christmas weekend, as opposed to Christmas Eve. This episode has nearly double the number of maps as the first one, and I'm just going to need more time.


In somewhat related news to the delay. If you haven't watched the new Star Wars, and like the original trilogy, go see it! Don't let the second trilogy, or that Disney bought the rights, discourage you. This is a good Star Wars movie, so good that I'm going to see it again later today. And if someone else asks me to go see it with them, there may even be a third time.

The Start of a Learning Project

First, I've made another good dent on the stack of work that is Episode 3. Roughly 6 hours in I've got most of the maps built, largely just needing touch-ups and populating. I hope that if I can do about this much work tomorrow I'll be on track for a Christmas Eve release. But we'll see if that happens, there is a lot of stuff for me to do in my personal life between now and Christmas.


Secondly, in a couple of hours I'll be starting work on that learning project. I've got so many ideas, but I'll have to see what I can do. The more I look at it, that more I'm thinking that I'll have to make a lot of the resources myself. It's been a long time since I've done much of any drawn art, and I hope I'm up for the task.

Hey a Post on Saturday

Maybe I'm starting to get my act together.

Good progress for the week so far. Wrote about 400 words in the Cursed Heroes design docs, most was for Episode 3. Plus I knocked out about 7 maps in about 3 hours today, though they'll need some more work.

Lastly I got permission from the creator of the comic I want to base my test game on. However, he has requested that I do not distribute or stream the game, as he is currently selling the comic. I'll will be giving him the finished version when I complete it, and he will have final say on what happens from there.

I'm hoping to learn enough about RPG Maker MV with it that I can start moving RPTG over to this new system. Speaking of, I am still working on RPTG, and am part way through writing another sex scene for it.

And Finally Episode Two

That took a long time, but it should be worth it. (You know minus the weeks I didn't get much done.)

Episode Two has half again as many maps and that should roughly translate to a similar amount of increased game play time. And for those who are taking a mostly dark play through, the first of the Honor/Stigma requirement interactions has been put in the game.

This release likely has some bugs, so please leave comments for any you happen to find.

Lastly, I'm hoping to release Episode Three before Christmas. We'll have to see if that manages to happen.

Need to get back in a Routine

Sorry for the late post, looks like my time off has caused some of my bad habits to get worse.

Made progress on Cursed Heroes: Episode 2, I hope to have a release at the end of this Thanksgiving weekend. Luckily when I moved to days at my job I got paid holidays, so I'll have a 4 day weekend minus spending time with family on Thursday.

I'll be posting a couple of map pics to the Cursed Heroes Facebook page after this, so that you can see a little of what I did over this past weekend.


Lastly experimentation with MV has been slow, but I like the material that I'm working with so I'm not giving up.

Easily Distracted

Legacy of the Void, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront. So many good games so little time.

Well, I owe anyone who has showed my work any interest an apology. I had several plans to be productive over this last week. Including working on Episode Two, and making a short game in MV so that I could get used to the new system.

I'm sad to say that I only really accomplished one of the things I set out to do, at the last minute, and it wasn't working on my games.


I still plan on working on them, now that I've gotten most of my gaming desires out of the way. Almost all of Episode Two has been written out, so it's just a matter of putting it into VX Ace. And the short game will be translating a comic into MV, but since I don't own the rights to the comic, I wont be able to release it or stream my work on it.

Episode One Bug Fix, is Finally Done

Sorry about that, procrastination and life events caused that to take longer then it should of. (New links on the current releases page.)

The bug found by Andrej Warlord where the players name would not keep has been fixed. (A new save will be needed if you don't want to play as 'Player'.)

And there are now character portraits, along with the ground work set for the remaining sprites added to the game.

Plus while the system was already in place you had no way of knowing it was there. So I added a flash of blue for when your choice earns you Honor, and a flash of red when you earn Stigma. These are similar to the good/evil system you find in some games (Mass Effect's Paragon/Renegade). In future episodes, if you earn enough of one or the other some extra options will present themselves.

I messed with a lot of the events for this patch, so I might of created new bugs or missed something. If you find anything please let me know.


And last but not least, next week I have all week off, so I'm going to see what making games for a living is like, and plan to invest around 7-8 hours a day into working on my games. Finishing with a release of Episode Two, the continuation of Cursed Heroes' story.

RPTG Stream

It's been a while sense the last time I've worked on anything other then Cursed Heroes for longer then it took to jot down a quick note. But while I put in several hours of work today, I'm still not sure how long it'll take to get a new version released.

Cursed Heroes will be a focus for a while, because I'm already behind for the next episode. Hopefully I'll be able to split my attention between two projects and still make deadlines soon.

Cursed Heroes: Episode One

The first episode of cursed heroes is done and available on the Current Releases page.

This is the first of 15 planned episodes to be released monthly, the majority of which should offer between 15 – 30 minutes of game play(total projected game play time of around 7 hours). With each episode being a small story that works to tell the over-arching story for this first season. If it turns out to be popular I've some thoughts for a second season, but that's a long ways off.


As the last few days were used to rush production, there will probably be a bug or two. If you find one, or have any suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment.

Internet Up, Now Jury Duty

A short and late post. Got my internet up and running today, roommates that work at night can sometimes be useful.

However I did end up getting selected for jury duty, and was just informed that the judge often keeps going after 6pm. This makes my days even longer for this week, and puts me in a position where I can't afford to think about my games during the day.

Luckily I've got almost everything for Cursed Heroes: Episode One written out already. So when I stream next Saturday or Sunday I should be able finish it. And hopefully upload it after putting in some time on RPTG.

The Day Before

Tomorrow I'm moving to my new place. It'll take a little time to settle in, but I hope to be up and running as soon as possible.

In preparation I made sure to re-install RPG Maker and activate it, after recovering from this last computer glitch. So while I might not be able to show my work for a while, I will be able to work in the shadows.


My pledge to you is, the next free weekend after getting my internet set up, I'll be sure to do a long stream. Anyone who would like to will be able to watch me hopefully finish Cursed Heroes: Episode One. Plus I plan to stream some work on RPTG as well, all while listening to a series of videos featuring Fenoxo's Corruption of Champions converted for 5th edition D&D. Computers are Fickle Friends

Last night I started up my computer only to find that some error had locked me out of my user profile. Rendering it nearly useless, I spent the remainder of the night backing up and uploading everything I needed to keep. This morning I did a full wipe of my drives and did a fresh install of windows. Twelve hours later I finally had windows, the necessary divers, and most of my needed software re-installed. Then came the time to download the backups, 100 gigs worth of backups, my connection will be tied up for many more hours.


TL;DR – No stream, FML.

News Update

Today I'll be out celebrating a friends birthday, so I probably won't have time to work on my games today. To make up for that I'll be streaming tomorrow, not sure of when or for how long, but I'll make it happen.


Next weekend I'll be moving, so I most likely won't get anything done then. And sense I don't know how long it'll take to get internet set up, the release for Cursed Heroes; Episode One will likely be set back. Hopefully it'll be ready to go by the 10th but if not I'll upload it as soon as possible.

The Week After

It's been a week since AnimeFest and the four day holiday in the US. If you missed it and are interested in my photos from the convention, they are on my twitter account.


And I'm back to work on Cursed Heroes, around six hours or more this week with over four of those streamed on my Picarto.tv account. I plan to put in some more work today, but I probably won't be streaming. I hope I can keep a good pace with this, and have the first episode released the first Saturday of October.

AnimeFest

My first time at an anime convention, was rather short. Went straight from work got there around 5pm and got in line for my badge. After getting my badge I perused the Bizarre Bazaar and Dealer's Rooms eventually finding something I wanted to buy. I plan to purchase something every day, so I'll have more loot to post on my Twitter account. Then at about 8pm I left and made the half mile walk back to my car, god I'm out of shape, need to fix that. Tomorrow I plan to attend the Cosplay Chess game, Character Design panel, Character Development panel, and finishing with the Hentai Dubbing: Behind the Moans panel.

And Now … A Really Late Post

Well season 4 of Diablo 3 launched over the weekend and it dominated my weekend. So very little work got done on the games. There was some small progress on Cursed Heroes, but less than a hundred words worth.

On a personal note, I'll be attending Anime Fest in Dallas, TX next weekend. It'll be my first anime convention and I'm really looking forward to it. I will post pictures to my twitter account, and should anyone find me and call me “Tak-sama” I'll hang out and buy you something.


The week after next should be business as usual, but after that I'll be moving.

Finally a Post on Saturday

Focus for this week has been and will continue to be D&D and Cursed Heroes. Once I've finished converting the Tomb of Whores(credit Adjatha, Fenoxo, and friends) module to something my non-smut loving players will enjoy, and I've caught up with Cursed Heroes I'll be able to start working on RPTG again.

On a personal note, I got accepted for the apartment and I'll be moving late next month. When that happens I'll probably have limited internet for a while, so I'll likely be only posting to twitter from my phone when that's happening.

Late Again

Not much to report, lost a lot of time to life and family, and I'm currently stuck converting a D&D campaign to a format that my group can play.

I hope to have the first episode of Cursed Heroes released on time, however failing that just a soon as possible.

RPTG is progressing, but even slower. Once I've moved into my new apartment it will hopefully accelerate.


Only having two days off a week is slowing me down.

Late Post (here we go again...)

Sorry about not posting on Saturday, life got in the way. I'll try to be on time next week.

Put in several hours into both Cursed Heroes and RPTG.

First, Cursed Heroes, I put in the character selection system. It should be easier for me to work with then what's in Plane 186, and once all the sprites are in you'll have the option of choosing one of several presets(though there's only one right now). I also started working on the intro to the game proper, this will be like a short cutscene before you start playing.


Second, RPTG, the first main sex scene is written, however I'll go back and review it in a few days to clean it up. Afterwards I'll finish it's variant and clean it up. Once those two are done I'll start the shower girl's scene and variant, that one should be fun.

Cursed Heroes, and RPTG

I'll be starting work on that other project I mentioned a while back, and I plan to only let it take up about half my current game making time. It's an episodic game series that will be released once a month till the end of next year. It'll be somewhat similar to if Telltale was making their games in RPG Maker.

Cursed Heroes takes place in a world where being a hero means being cursed to be hunted for the remainder of your life. As a group of heroes killed the last Succubus Queen, she cursed them and all heroes to be hunted down by 'Reapers'. Decades later the game will follow a pair of heroes trying to survive in this dystopian fantasy world.

One of two things can make you a hero, saving a person at personal risk, and/or killing a person for reasons other then personal gain. When doing the right thing will get you killed, how do good people survive. Can you live in this world?


As for RPTG, I'm almost done with the first sex scene and it's variant. And most of the events have been put into RPG Maker, so that would make me 25 – 30% done with what's going in to the next beta. I still have no idea how much longer it'll take, but I enjoy the work so it will get done eventually.

And Suddenly Day Shift

My job moved me to a standard work week, so I haven't gotten much done. My weekend was replaced with a 10 hour turn around to move from my old night schedule to my current day schedule. It would appear that this will continue for the foreseeable future.

So for now my blog posts will be released on Saturdays, with Sundays being the potential stream days. I'm sorry for the short notice, and if this is inconvenient for some of you.

First Week Back on RPTG

Wrote a couple hundred words of new content, primarily sex scenes. Added a suggestion to the game, it'll end up giving me a little more work, however what's life without variety. I'm not going to tell you how to get it, but the trigger is on the tendril home world.

Plane 186 b0.2 Go

So I just finished the next build of Plane 186, sorry it took so long. It's pretty different from the first build, could almost be called a new game. A little work got done on RPTG, and my other project, and now that there has been a Plane 186 release RPTG will once again be my focus.

B0.2 change log:

  • Most maps have been updated.
  • Most sprites have been updated.
  • There's a new side quest in the spider cave.
  • There's a new ring vendor in the Merchant Quarter.
  • The main story continues till right before entering the mountain pass.
  • A whole mess of back end upgrades.
  • And various other small things I'll let people find.


If you notice any bugs please let me know, and I'll fix them ASAP.

Won't be Long Now

I should have a new version out in a week or two. It'll have the new maps, new sprites, a fast travel system, and include new content. The main story will continue till right before entering the ork infested mountain pass.

Work on RPTG continues if slowly, attempting to write sex scenes from the point of view of a tentacle monster that has never seen another race before is proving to be an interesting challenge.


I'll be having to find a new place to live soon, so I might have to take some time off. When I know a more exact time frame I'll let y'all know.

Cleaning Switches Update

No D&D this week, so I'll be using that time to work on Plane 186. Right now I'm working on cleaning up the Switch calls so that they will be easier to manage. The way I had them before they would of gotten difficult to handle and troubleshoot as the game progressed.


Fallout continued to eat some time this week, because I discovered the Tale of Two Wastelands Mod. This ambitious mod takes the content from Fallout 3 and imports it into the New Vegas engine, letting you experience both wasteland story lines as one game. So if you are a fan of Bethesda's two current Fallout games, and own both Fallout 3 and New Vegas along with all their DLCs you might want to give it a try.

Late Update

Sorry about the late update, after Wednesday's D&D game I felt drained and just sat in front of my computer like a zombie.

In other news, a lot of time this week was spent replaying Fallout New Vegas. After seeing the E3 news about Fallout 4 I just needed to scratch that itch.

However, I did still find that time to write a lot of new content, so look forward to it.


I'm also working with that friend I mentioned a while back on a third project that would consist of a series of episodic quests released one a month. Think of it like a TV show or anime, 30 – 40 minutes of entertainment then on to the next episode.

Map Test Build

Another week passes, and I come bearing some of the fruits of my labor. I've uploaded a new build of Plane 186 that has the new mapping system, and the new sprites in it. Please note this is not a working build, it's just a way to let people see the new sprites and how the maps are going to work now. I know there are going to be several bugs in this version, if you think it's something that I'll miss as I continue working towards the next official version please let me know.

PS. Old saves wont work on future builds.

Maps Time

I have a check list to help keep track of my progress towards the next release, and I checked one of the items off this week.


Still working on the maps. I completed the spider cave maps, but still need to populate them and rework the encounters. The desert has several large maps so it'll take a lot of time.

After that it's just populating them, reworking and balancing the encounters, then finishing with putting in the remainder of this areas major story.

I've converted the sprites, and put a few hours into making the new maps. This process will take longer then I thought, and I still need to adjust the monster encounters so that they scale better for this new system. After I finish with the graphics it shouldn't take too long to finish putting in the content I have written, then I'll release a new build of Plane 186.

Plane 186 Revamp

Working on converting the sprites to a larger size in preparation for who you'll find on the other side of the mountains. I'm also moving away from the world map type of exploration and will instead use a series of maps to represent the larger world. This will take a little time, but will give me plenty to stream while I'm working.


RPTG is still being worked on, however the sex scenes will take precedence till I've got them caught up with what's currently in the game.

Another Week and the Start of Summer Break

Monday was my last class of the semester, so I'm looking forward to spending more time per week on my games till the fall semester starts. I still have a lot of personal things that are going to get in the way, but I'll just have to work them out one at a time.


Spent some time this week cleaning up and writing in the design docs, and I put in about a hour working with RPG Maker. My ideas are starting to dry up, so the writing is starting to slow down again, and I have no idea how long the sex scenes will take me to write.

Welcome Futanari Palace Guests

I honestly didn't expect so many more visits from just that little post. Thank you all for visiting.

So far this week I've put in a few hours working on the docs for both games, and a little time on that background project. I also put in about a hour into adding content to Plane 186, but this week is not over and I'm going to stream on Picarto for a little while Thursday night.

PS: I might of found someone who can help keep me accountable for working on these games, if so my productivity should start to go back up.

And Another Week Passes By

Put in a few more hours on Plane 186, even got on Picarto to stream them, and wrote some more in the docs. I'm also thinking about having some busts made for the codex page, so that people visiting the blog have something more to look at then text.

Really late update (sorry)

So I was going to do this last night but I got distracted, sorry about that.


Progress for the week was better then the last few weeks. Wrote more on the design docs for all three games, and put about 4-5 hours of work into Plane 186 on Tuesday. I didn't stream because I didn't think I would go for that long. Hopefully this means that I'll be back on the wagon for creating new content and have a new release for Plane 186 in the near future.

The Start of a Regiment

I'll be starting a diet and physical fitness routine this week, lasting for the next 8 months. I'd be losing what little time I have to work on my games during my work week because of this normally, but I'm going to set aside at least one hour everyday either to work on one of my games or to work on Udemy courses.

Even if that means losing a little sleep.

Looks Like I Missed a Week

Sorry about that. I put in about a hour of work on RPTG, but not much else.


I also thought of a large project to start working on in the background. It would be something that would take me a long time to finish, even if I could work on it full time. The basics would be a hack 'n slash dungeon crawler built in Unity 3D. For now I'll be working on it by learning Unity 3D and writing every idea that I have so that when I do start to work on it, I wont have so many pauses like I do with these first two games.

Busy Couple of Weeks

First off Gamer Nation Con was a blast again this year, and I'm planning on going next year too.

I released an alpha build for my second game called R.P.T.entacleD., check the current releases page if you would like to play it.


Finally, just to night I've thought of more content for Plane 186 and it's sister project the D&D game I'm DMing. Hopefully I'll be able to move the content for both forward soon.

However, now my vacation is over and I'm back to working my full time job and school, so we'll see how much I can get accomplished.

R.P.T.entacleD. Alpha Release

In it you play as a tentacle monster who gets summoned by accident and then, in good tentacle monster fashion, starts mating with everyone it can get it's tendrils on. There is a lot of text in there, but when I have more of the main story in the game I'll make the prologue skippable.

Mid Vacation Work

I'm on vacation from my job this week in order to attend Gamer Nation Con, in Plano, TX from March 6-8.

I will continue to work on my games during the days I'm not at the Con.


Today I worked on R.P.T.entacleG. for about 7 hours. Tomorrow I'll be tweaking the last bits and then uploading an Alpha to the site. No porn yet, just the prologue, but the rest will have quite a bit. I've never written a sex scene before so they are bound to be sub-par till I get better.

The End of Another Weekend

Sorry for the late post, not been much going on with the game. I'll be on Monday with a stream, but Tuesday is the start of the spring semester and I'll likely be back to working on the game for only a few hours a week.

Brainstorming …

Don't feel like I got much done this last week, mostly just caught up on some new releases for some games I'm following.


I have been thinking about the game sometimes while at work. The goblins are going to turn into a much larger encounter than I had originally planned. I'm currently working on a race bio for them, and I purchased a new graphics pack for the game for them as well.

Happy New Years ... if a bit late

Spent New Years Eve with family, so I didn't get to do everything I wanted. So I'm drinking now for celebration, and to remember those that we've lost this last year. I'll be back at work my next weekend, the goal is to finish the majority of the first area then make another release before working on the next region.
